Can Activism be Fun—and Funny?
Occupy Natick is pleased to be screening the most recent Yes Men movie at our upcoming Free Movie & Discussion night. We have featured the Yes Men before when we showed “The Yes Men Fix the World” all the way back in 2013. The Yes Men are totally outrageous and dedicated activists who make their point through humor and satire and political performance theater.
Their style is to stage phony events and press releases in an effort to bring attention to environmental dangers and corporate greed. They prank corporations and organizations who engage in climate change denial–tackling perhaps the most important issue of our time–climate change–in a way that goes down easy. We hope you’ll join us.

“The Yes Men are a culture jamming group that use satirical performance art to make political points. While impersonating public relations personnel, they hold fake press conferences where they announce corporations, governments, and other organizations have taken a new, leftist stance. After seeing little gain from their pranks and increasing demands in their personal lives, The Yes Men debate whether they should continue. They are reinvigorated by the Occupy Wall Street protests and embark on a new campaign to combat climate change denial.”[Source]
